The world is an amazing and beautiful place. Just getting out and seeing it is an elixir for the soul. But, as with anything, it comes with a price. Any elixir for the soul requires the mind to pay taxes for it. Unlike government, though, these taxes actually build and repair infrastructure. If you cooperate with them. Philosophy. Faith. Reason. Fides et Ratio “Faith and Reason” as St. Pope John Paul II phrased it. The study of these are required — but what is built from them is passion, love, and life. The foundations of science and reason are philosophy and theology, regardless of your religious beliefs — or their absence. These pages are musings about passion, love, and life through philosophy, theology, reason, and even photography. Sometimes beauty needs to be seen.
I will admit that I am not the best photographer in the world. That notwithstanding, there is beauty in the natural world, beauty in landscapes, and beauty in the tiny such as pollen laden legs of honeybees. I photograph beauty, I muse on beauty, and I share them both on these pages. Like any good entrepreneur, I also offer those pictures for sale. If you see any picture in the blog or on the photos pages, click on it. It will take you to a larger version of it, including a description and a link to a site to purchase a print. Purchasing a print is not required, though every little bit will help me maintain this site, so thanks in advance.
I hope you enjoy my musings and my photographs. Feel free to comment on any post. Note, though, that with great power, comes great responsibility — in that vein, all comments will be moderated. Ad hominem attacks against me or any other commenter will not be published. Comments need to be respectful and advance discussion. Snark is good, too; name calling is not. The point of this is to seek knowledge through musings, photographs, and discussion. All are freely invited to help.

Musings, questions, contemplations, and random thoughts. Some posts will have pictures, some won’t. But they will all be thoughtful … and thought provoking. I will attempt to appropriately cite all pictures that are not mine (obviously they won’t be for sale, either).
